Tungnath Temple is the highest Shiva temple in the world, located at an altitude of about 3,680 meters in the Rudraprayag district. It is part of the Panch Kedar pilgrimage and is believed to have been built by the Pandavas to seek forgiveness from Lord Shiva. The trek to Tungnath starts from Chopta and is relatively easy, making it popular among beginners. The temple remains open from May to November.
